Things to do at Low Isles

Low Isles sits about 15 kilometres off Port Douglas, a small coral cay built around a lighthouse dating to 1878. Most day trips leave Port Douglas marina by 9 am and take roughly 45 minutes to an hour by boat, with several operators using a slower, sail-assisted crossing as part of the appeal.

The water inside the reef flat here is noticeably calmer than at the outer reef, which makes it a common pick for a first snorkel or for families travelling with young kids.

Expect the advertised tour price to sit somewhere in the 180-230 AUD range per adult, and note that the Environmental Management Charge, around 8 AUD per person per day, is almost never included in that headline figure. Trips typically run half a day rather than a full one.
