Things to do at Hartley's Crocodile Adventures

Hartley's Crocodile Adventures sits on the Captain Cook Highway about 40 minutes north of Cairns, roughly halfway to Port Douglas, and it's an enclosure-based wildlife park, not a wild encounter.

Boat cruises through purpose-built lagoons put visitors close to resident saltwater crocodiles at set feeding times, and there's a koala and wildlife area, a snake show, and a restaurant that serves crocodile on the menu. Entry runs from about AU$45 for adults, with combo tickets adding a Rainforestation or reef-day pickup.

Plan on three to four hours to see the cruise, a keeper talk, and the walking trails. Gates open at 8:30am. It works well as a half-day stop for families or anyone who wants a guaranteed, safe crocodile sighting on the way to or from Port Douglas.
